O.k., now what. Also, my expectations of "exercises" were not met.
I bought the audio of the Power of Now for two reasons, first, I could listen to it while working on my quilt and 2. I bought the book last year and have read it and "The New Earth" a couple of times and enjoyed both very much.
However, I was disappointed that there weren't meditations led by Eckhart which the title states. I was looking for specific exercises I could use to get better at "being present".
The audio is not a word-for-word reading of the book, rather a summary of the highlights with which I was fine. Once (maybe twice) he suggested getting quiet and "going within" to become aware of the energy of your body.
Maybe it is just me being hung up on "doing" rather than "being" but isn't that the problem the book is trying to get us to overcome.
This is one of the best books I ever read. This book relieved my suffering and I am very pleased now.
Nothing new here - Repackaged the original book. The same ideas as Dyer, Hicks, Ruiz, and many other teachers - but oddly presented. Possibly a translation problem. Actually found it a rather negative presentation of some very positive ideas. Also, because I got the AudioBook, I wish he had found someone else to narrate - between the accent, and the monotone presentation, I found it difficult to listen to.A very disappointing purchase in every way.
Make sure you read the Power of Now first, otherwise this book is/was a total loss.
No question a great review of NOW. It is always on my night table with my light.
